Interesting Programs and Events at the University of Utah
When we think about the University of Utah, one thing that most certainly comes to mind is athletics. This university has plenty of courses that teach students how to become certified athletic trainers. But before they can do that, students also need to earn a degree from an athletic training curriculum.
The formal instruction included in the accredited programs may comprise first aid and emergency case, human anatomy, physiology, prevention of injury or illness, therapeutic methods, injury/illness assessment, nutrition, etc. Classroom learning is complemented by clinical educational experiences. And we have to add that more than 70 percent of the certified athletic trainers have at least one MA degree.
If they want to become certified trainers, students have to pass a comprehensive test given by the Board of Certification. After they are certified, they have to meet other requirements if they want to keep their status.
There are a lot of places that are in constant need of certified athletic trainers. Among many other work settings, we could mention the secondary schools, colleges, universities, hospitals, clinics, professional sports teams, military & law enforcement, performing arts, industrial and commercial fields, and so on.
The Ultimate Utah Wedding Contest
But there are many other interesting facts about this university. One of them is an unusual contest, called “The Ultimate Utah Wedding”, which is a free wedding that can be awarded to a couple proving that they are the greatest of all U fans.
The reward is a beautiful Utah-themed wedding, created by the best wedding vendors in the state. It’s meant to capture the great spirit of this reputable university.
How the Couple Gets Selected
The couples that participate in this contest have to submit a 2 minute video in which they explain and demonstrate how they are the biggest U fans ever, and why they deserve such prize. The University picks the best 3 couples, who are then introduced to the public - who ultimately gives the final vote.
How the Wedding Is Planned
This unique event brings together some of the best wedding experts in the country, in order to offer the winning couple an utterly wonderful experience. Of course, these vendors take into account the personality and style of the couple. After that, they offer two options, which are then voted by the public through Facebook and Good Things Utah.
